Why We Don't Have Plus Sizes.

Posted by Maureen Keough on

We get a lot of complaints about not making our clothes in XXL or larger, and it really does get us down :/

We wish we could offer those sizes! Because of course we want everyone, regardless of their body type, to be able to wear Too Fast. Our goal is to make apparel that provides an outlet for people to express themselves in ways alternative to what’s considered normal, or mainstream. And when we’re unable to provide that to someone because of their body type, it sucks.

The reason we can’t make larger sizes is that they’re not economically feasible. We’re a small business, so when products cost a lot to manufacture, but don’t sell well, we lose money. That’s the case with plus sizes. Despite there being a decent number of people requiring larger clothes, the sales don’t pile in like they do for S,M,L, and XL. We’d manufacture plus sizes in smaller quantities, but then our costs would skyrocket and we’d lose money.  As a small business, we simply can’t afford to eat losses like that.

So to everyone out there who likes our stuff, but can’t wear it: we’re genuinely sorry. In the future, we’ll do our best to provide a larger range of sizes for a larger range of body types, but for now, it is what it is. Running a small business isn’t easy, especially in a niche industry. Unfortunately that means sacrifices have to be made, including this one. Just know that it bothers us just as much as it bothers you, and we look forward to things changing, just as much as you do.

Sincerely,

Too Fast
